Now more than ever, you are needed to donate your old blankets, towels, and sheets to your local animal shelter. With financial cut-backs, repairs on shelters are often put off, so if it's drafty, the animals suffer. I know my shelter uses rags to stuff under doors. No kidding! Empty out those closets... this is your chance to get rid of stuff and do something useful!

Incompetence Alleged Against NYC's Animal Care & Control's Executive Director, Julie Bank

I have to say that this story gets worse and worse in New York City. Julie Bank - the Executive Director of Animal Care & Control - has a terrible reputation in the rescue community.  Apparently it's "too painful to go to the shelter."

Oh, really? Well, then, what the hell are you doing in your job, may I ask?

Now they are not only not searching their own shelters for citizen calls about lost dogs, they not only still haven't hired back Emily Tanen, but now they euthanizing the wrong animals.

I'll be running regular updates on these folks. The gloves are off. By the time this many people are calling for your resignation, it's Gospel. Rescue people like good animal shelter directors, because it can always be worse.
Read and see.
