Now more than ever, you are needed to donate your old blankets, towels, and sheets to your local animal shelter. With financial cut-backs, repairs on shelters are often put off, so if it's drafty, the animals suffer. I know my shelter uses rags to stuff under doors. No kidding! Empty out those closets... this is your chance to get rid of stuff and do something useful!

German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County (California)

Over the years I have known of this group and their outstanding rescue work. I am pretty sure I donated to them as well, for one dog or another. I learned of them on facebook, where much rescue happens.

Penny Eims, of Examiner.com (I always applaud her efforts) posted on GSROC recently. It seems they have adopted so many absolutely urgent dogs who have been severely neglected that it is now impeding their ability to rescue any additional dogs.

PLEASE consider even a modest contribution. This is a great group that meets great needs.
