Now more than ever, you are needed to donate your old blankets, towels, and sheets to your local animal shelter. With financial cut-backs, repairs on shelters are often put off, so if it's drafty, the animals suffer. I know my shelter uses rags to stuff under doors. No kidding! Empty out those closets... this is your chance to get rid of stuff and do something useful!

News Round Up

Here is what's in the news...

Bernadette Peters sings for Broadway Barks

Broadway star, Tony, Grammy and Golden Globe Award winner, and long-time Broadway Cares / Equity Fights Aids friend and Trustee, Bernadette Peters, will perform a special one night only concert "Bernadette Peters: A Special Concert for Broadway Barks Because Broadway Cares" on Monday, November 9 at 8 PM at Broadway's Minskoff Theatre (1515 Broadway).

Broadway Barks, originally conceived by Ms Peters with Mary Tyler Moore as a program to promote the adoption of shelter animals, has evolved into an annual event that promotes and celebrates the work of animal shelters in New York, while also focusing attention of responsible pet ownership, spay / neuter programs, and the importance of pet-identification.
